The Ectodermal Dysplasia Society has asked Website Design in Cheltenham for help in developing their new site.
The Ectodermal Dysplasia Society is a charity dedicated to improving the health and well-being of people whose lives are affected by Ectodermal Dysplasia (ED). They work together with people who have ED, their families, researchers, health and other professionals to develop and share expertise, increase awareness and understanding, and assist with the day-to-day management of ED.
The ED Society already has a website but it is unresponsive and to use the old phrase "is not fit for purpose".
Whilst they started to create their site themselves using WordPress they soon ran into problems. Recognising that they had reached a limit they approached one of our other clients for help- who kindly suggested that we could help them instead.
After a review of their current requirements we worked out what they are trying to achieve and the most cost effective approach to achieving their aims- escpecially as being a charity limited budgets are a key issue for them.
As well as design improvements they also needed search engine optimisation, security implementation, donation payment systems and overal functional issues addressed and fixed.
Oh and they also need to implement a Secure Socket Layer in the near future and to use Donald Rumsfeld's "fear of the unknown, unknowns" hand holding going on into the future for assistance when they run into ongoing issues.
